Dennis Weaver, Clerk of the Circuit Court

Dennis Weaver has served as Clerk of Court of Washington County since 1986. Prior to being elected to the Clerk's position, Mr. Weaver served as a Deputy Clerk beginning in 1973, and was Supervisor of the Criminal Department from 1983 until being elected Clerk of Court.

Since becoming Clerk of Circuit Court, Mr. Weaver has served on many committees statewide, working to benefit the Maryland Judiciary, the Washington County Circuit Court, and the citizens of Washington County and the State. Mr. Weaver served as a member of the Conference of Circuit Court Clerks from 1997 to 2007 and 2013 to present, including serving as Conference Chair from 1998 to 2000 and again from 2005 to 2007. He is an active member of the Maryland Circuit Court Clerks' Association, and served as President of the Association from 1996 to 1998.  He served on the Governor’s Criminal Justice Information Advisory Board from 1990 to 2003.  He is currently serving as a member of the Maryland Rules Committee, as well as a member of the Judicial Council's Case Management Sub-Committee, Non-Case Record Technology Sub-Committee, and Records Retention Workgroup.

Mr. Weaver's goal for his office is to provide the residents of Washington County with well-trained, knowledgeable staff who offer prompt courteous service.

Mr. Weaver is a native of Washington County and resides in Hagerstown. He graduated from North Hagerstown High School and Hagerstown Junior College with an Associate Degree in Business and Accounting.
