The District Court of Maryland for Montgomery County, Rockville Location, is moving from
27 Courthouse Square to 191 East Jefferson Street, Rockville, Maryland from Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29, 2011.
The District Courthouse located in Rockville will close for business at 4:30 p.m. Friday, July 22 and will reopen for business on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. at 191 East Jefferson Street. This new location is across East Jefferson Street opposite the current Rockville courthouse location. During the closure of the Rockville courthouse, all court business with the District Court located in Montgomery County, including filing of papers and court hearings except as noted below, will be at the Silver Spring courthouse location, 8552 Second Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland. No court business will be conducted in the Rockville District courthouse location during the week of July 25 through July 29.
From July 25 through July 29, during regular business hours, persons may file petitions for domestic violence in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County at 50 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, or in the District Court located in Silver Spring. Peace order petitions filed during regular business hours must be filed in the Silver Spring location. All domestic violence hearings scheduled by the District Court for July 25 through July 29 will be scheduled and heard in the Silver Spring location. The daily bond hearing docket will be heard in the Circuit Court, 50 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, Maryland, at 1:00 p.m. in Courtroom 16. Domestic violence petitions filed after hours may be filed at the Commissioner's Office located at the Central Processing Unit located in the Montgomery County Detention Center, 7001 Seven Locks Road, Rockville, or at the Commissioner's office located in the District courthouse in Silver Spring on Second Avenue.
