Revised Maryland Standards of Conduct for Mediators

The Maryland Judicial Council Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee (“the ADR Committee”) has formed the Work Group on Standards of Conduct for Mediators to draft a single, revised set of standards of conduct for Maryland mediators that may ultimately replace two existing sets of standards. The Work Group has developed DRAFT Revised Maryland Standards of Conduct for Mediators for this purpose.

The ADR Committee has asked its staff to obtain comments about the Work Group draft from interested persons and organizations. This input will be compiled and presented to the Work Group, which will then discuss whether the current draft should be revised. The Work Group’s recommendations will then be presented to the ADR Committee, which will consider whether to propose that the Judicial Council and/or the Maryland Court of Appeals adopt or approve the Work Group recommendation, with or without further revisions.
