Howard County District Court Celebrates
15th Drug/DUI Treatment Court Graduation

(ELLICOTT CITY, Md. – May 29, 2012) On Wednesday, May 30, the Howard County District Court Drug and DUI (alcohol) Treatment Court will hold its 15th graduation. Howard County District Judge Ricardo D. Zwaig will preside over the graduation ceremony as several graduates celebrate their success with family members and friends. The media are invited to attend.

Drug and DUI treatment court programs combine judicial oversight with intensive treatment and supervision. Maryland’s first drug treatment court began in Baltimore in 1994; there are now more than 40 drug treatment courts throughout the state. Howard County’s drug treatment court began in June 2004, and the program for DUI infractions was added in January 2005.
