Are you a parent? Are you concerned that you may become unable to care for your child(ren) due to incapacitation or adverse immigration action? This FREE 30-minute class will explain how to set up standby guardianship so that someone can care for your child if something happens to you.

We will cover:

  • Is standby guardianship right for me and my family?
  • How do I choose a standby guardian?
  • How do I designate a standby guardian?
  • What paperwork do I need to complete to designate a standby guardian? Does that paperwork need to be filed with the Court?
  • How do I petition the Court to appoint a standby guardian?
  • After I have designated a standby guardian, or after the Court has appointed a standby guardian, what triggers their authority to take care of my child?
  • How long does the standby guardian's authority last?
  • What else should the standby guardian and I do to prepare?

Part 3: I'm a Standby Guardian: Now What?

This FREE 30-minute class will explain how a standby guardian may petition the court to confirm their appointment as standby guardian.
