CHIEF JUDGE BELL NAMES NEW ADMINISTRATIVE JUDGES FOR ALLEGANY COUNTY AND FIFTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT

(ANNAPOLIS, MD–January 3, 2002)   Court of Appeals Chief Judge Robert M.
has named Judge Gary G. Leasure as Administrative Judge for Allegany County Circuit Court, Judge Joseph P. Manck as Anne Arundel Circuit Administrative Judge, and Howard County Circuit Judge Diane O. Leasure as Administrative Judge for the Fifth Judicial Circuit. Judge Diane Leasure will also become Administrative Judge for Howard County because current Howard County Circuit Administrative Judge Raymond J. Kane, Jr. has elected to relinquish that position, effective January 4th.

“I am delighted that these three outstanding jurists have agreed to assume this important leadership role within their respective circuits,” Chief Judge Bell said.  “I have had the pleasure of working with them all, and have been impressed by their strong commitment  to the Judiciary, and their excellence as judges.  I want to thank outgoing Administrative Judges Greene and Sharer for their leadership and hard work.  I also wish to commend Judge Kane for his ten years of dedicated service as administrative judge for Howard County.  He has done a wonderful job.”

These jurists replace Judge Frederick Sharer, who formerly headed Allegany County Circuit Court, and Judge Clayton Greene, Jr., who served as administrative judge for both Anne Arundel County and the Fifth Judicial Circuit.  They were recently elevated to the Court of Special Appeals.
