ANNAPOLIS, MD (November 3, 2003)—The Maryland State Law Library’s lecture series continues this month with a lecture on “Elder Law in Maryland: Basic Planning”, given by Jason A. Frank, Esq., elder law specialist and practicing attorney. The lecture will be held on Wednesday, November 5, at 12:00 p.m. at the Maryland State Law Library, located in the Robert C. Murphy Courts of Appeal Building, 361 Rowe Blvd., Annapolis. Mr. Frank, whose practice focuses on elder law, estate planning, probate, guardianship and government benefits, is the author of Elder Law in Maryland (Lexis Law Publishing, 1999), the fundamental text on elder law. His lecture will address some basic legal planning issues—of interest to anyone dealing with the legal consequences of aging. “Elder Law in Maryland” is the third in a series of lectures being held by the Maryland State Law Library to celebrate its 175 years of service to the State. Topics for future lectures include Maryland’s Declaration of Rights from 1776 to the present (Dan Friedman, January 28, 2004); the value of unpublished Maryland court opinions in legal research; and the future of legal research. Dates and speakers will be announced throughout the year. Media are invited to attend.
