 MEDIA PROTOCOL MEETING TO BE HELDFOR UPCOMING DEATH PENALTY CASE

BALTIMORE, MD (January 5, 2004) – In light of the upcoming death penalty trials (State of Maryland v. Jovon House, Raymond Saunders) being heard in Baltimore City Circuit Court in January, members of the media planning to cover these trials are invited to attend a meeting with court officials to discuss media protocol. The meeting will be held on January 9, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in Room 510 of Courthouse East, 111 North Calvert Street, Baltimore. 


Materials will be distributed that will explain the logistical process for covering this case, including obtaining a temporary media pass, observing trial exhibits and court documents, holding interviews, items that will be permitted in the courtroom, services the courts will make available to the media, and contacting the media liaison. For planning purposes, contact the Court Information Office at 410-260-1488 if you plan to attend. For those unable to attend the meeting, but plan to cover the trials, a copy of the materials can be obtained by contacting the Court Information Office.
