JUSTICE FOR ALL Forum to
be Held at Wheaton High School
(WHEATON, MD— October 20, 2004) The
Maryland Judiciary will hold its third “JUSTICE FOR ALL” public forum on
Wednesday, Oct. 27, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Wheaton High School, located
at 12601 Dalewood Dr., Wheaton. Montgomery County Public Schools
will co-sponsor the event.
Maryland Court of Appeals Chief
Judge Robert M. Bell will host the event, which will feature presentations
on domestic violence and the criminal justice system and violence in teen
dating relationships. Forums held in Montgomery County in 2002 and 2003
have drawn groups of more than 200 residents.
“After the success of our first two
forums, we hope to meet even more members of the community at the public
forum in Wheaton,” said Chief Judge Bell. “This will not only be a wonderful
opportunity for people to meet their local judges and learn about our courts,
but it will make us all more aware of the problem of domestic violence.”
Trial court judges will be on hand to
answer questions related to domestic violence and the criminal justice
system. Information on domestic violence services and programs offered
in Montgomery County, along with immigration-related issues pertaining
to domestic violence, will also be provided.
Spanish, Chinese, and Vietnamese interpreters
will be available. For more information, please call 240/777-9366 or the
Court Information Office at 410/260-1488.
