(Ellicott City, MD – March 25, 2005) The satellite commissioners station in Howard County will open in the Maryland House of Corrections in Jessup at 8 a.m. Monday, March 28. The station is moving from its current location in the Howard County Safety Complex in Laurel.

The station will be located at 7311 Waterloo Road, Jessup, Md. 21794, near the intersection of Route 1 and Route 175. The telephone and fax numbers will stay the same: 410/313-4740 (phone) and 410/313-3746 (fax).

The station will be open 24 hours a day and seven days a week, with as many as three commissioners sitting at one time.

Howard County’s primary commissioners station is located at the Howard District Court/Multi-Service Center in Ellicott City.

Court commissioners handle preliminary cases, conducting initial appearance hearings, preparing statements of charges, and accepting bonds for release.
