(ANNAPOLIS, Md. - August 17, 2009) Judge Amy J. Bragunier has been appointed county administrative judge for Charles County Circuit Court in the Seventh Judicial Circuit. Chief Judge Robert M. Bell of the Maryland Court of Appeals made the announcement today. Judge Bragunier's appointment is effective immediately.

Judge Bragunier replaces Judge Robert C. Nalley who resigned his position as county administrative judge after serving in that position since 1995. Judge Nalley has served on the Charles County Circuit Court bench since 1988.

The county administrative judge is responsible for the supervision of all judges, officers, and employees of the court, the assigning of judges to cases, and the court's budget.

Judge Bragunier has served as associate judge in the Charles County Circuit Court since 2002. Prior to joining the bench, she was appointed master for domestic relations and juvenile causes, from 1996 to 2002. Judge Bragunier served as assistant county attorney for Charles County from 1992 to 1996 and was in private practice from 1987 to 1996.
