(ELKTON, Md. — April 2, 2010) The Cecil County Circuit Court has appointed Robert V. Jones, Esq., as the auditor and trust clerk for the court pursuant with Md Rule 2-543. Jones began his duties in February.

Jones succeeds Frank T. Howard, Cecil County Circuit Court auditor for 35 years, who died in December.

As court auditor and trust clerk, Jones works closely in conjunction with the Clerk of the Court to review day-to-day transactions, act as the accountant for the court, and oversee the administration of certain fiduciary related court matters, including guardianships, trusts, and foreclosures.

Jones has practiced law in Cecil County for 35 years, including business law, estate planning and administration, and real property law. He received his undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University and his law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1970.
