Anne Arundel County District Court Celebrates
Drug/DUI Treatment Court Graduation
(ANNAPOLIS, Md. – May 22, 2012) On Thursday, May 31, several people will celebrate their success with family members and friends during the Anne Arundel County District Court Drug and DUI (alcohol) Treatment Court’s graduation. The media are invited to attend.
The rigorous drug and DUI treatment court program combines judicial oversight with intensive treatment and supervision. Judge Thomas Pryal will preside over the graduation ceremony. Retired Circuit Judge Joseph Manck will talk to the graduates as the event’s keynote speaker. Theodore Brown will be the graduate guest speaker.
Maryland’s first drug treatment court began in Baltimore in 1994, and there are now more than 40 drug treatment courts throughout the state. Anne Arundel County’s drug treatment court began in 1996, and the program for DUI infractions was added in 2005.
