Howard County District Court Celebrates
16th Drug/DUI Treatment Court Graduation
(ELLICOTT CITY, Md. – Nov. 7, 2012) On Wednesday, Nov. 14, Howard County District Judge Ricardo D. Zwaig will preside as several graduates celebrate their success with family members and friends during the Howard County District Court Drug and DUI (alcohol) Treatment Court’s 16th graduation. The media are invited to attend.
Drug and DUI treatment court programs combine judicial oversight with intensive treatment and supervision. Maryland’s first drug treatment court began in Baltimore in 1994; there are now 42 drug treatment courts throughout the state. Howard County’s drug treatment court began in June 2004, and the program for DUI infractions was added in January 2005.
