The Core Collection list is a guide for Maryland circuit court law libraries in the assessment and acquisition of materials to meet the Maryland County Public Law Library Standards (CMCLLD, adopted June 2009). The list is helpful for librarians (law and general) and researchers in identifying useful materials, particularly when working in an unfamiliar area of the law.
The Core Collection list incorporates resources for Maryland, General, and Self-Help law. Materials are grouped by topic and subtopic. A researcher seeking resources for a subject area will be able to see immediately if there is a self‐help, Maryland, or general title related to that topic. If there is not a Maryland title, for instance, they can easily move to the general title option.
