Howard County District Court Celebrates
Adult Drug/DUI Court Graduation


(ELLICOTT CITY, MARYLAND – November 6, 2017) – The Howard County District Court will honor its successful Adult Drug/DUI Court program participants during a graduation ceremony on Wednesday, November 8. Participants will celebrate with friends, family, and former program participants. News media are invited to attend.

The rigorous drug and DUI (alcohol) treatment court program combines judicial oversight with intensive treatment and supervision. Howard County District Judge Ricardo D. Zwaig will preside over the graduation ceremony.

The Howard County District Court Adult Drug Court/DUI program began in 2004. More than 200 people have successfully completed the program. Maryland’s first drug treatment courts began in 1994 in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City and Baltimore City District Court. Today, there are 53 problem-solving court programs in Maryland.
