District Court to hold Schools in the Court program for Anne Arundel County students

 

WHO:            Approximately 100 students from Anne Arundel County’s Glen Burnie, Meade, and Southern high schools.

Anne Arundel County District Court Judge Shaem C.P. Spencer, presiding

WHAT:          Students will learn about the legal and financial consequences of poor decisions. In addition to hearing from people who have been involved with the legal system because of drunk driving, speeding, texting while driving, and other offenses, students will see actual court cases and have an opportunity to engage court personnel in question-and-answer sessions regarding the Judiciary.

                        Awards will be presented to the winners of the Schools in the Court: Better Choices-Better Tomorrow contest and The Honorable Vincent A. Mulieri/Kason Donato Annual Student Spotlight Award. Winning students will receive a cash prize, made possible by the 21st Century Education Foundation of the Anne Arundel County Public Schools system, special recognition during the program, and a chance to shadow a member of the Schools in the Court team.

WHEN:          Thursday, October 24, at 8:30 a.m.
