Kent County courthouse is renamed for Judge George B. Rasin Jr.

On May 14, Judge George B. Rasin Jr. will be memorialized during an event to celebrate the renaming of the Kent County courthouse.

The Kent County George B. Rasin Jr. Courthouse, located at 103 Cross Street in Chestertown, Maryland, was renamed by the Board of County Commissioners on December 17, 2019. The name honors Judge George B. Rasin Jr. (1917-2011) who served as the first judge of the Circuit Court for Kent County from 1960 to 1987 and led a movement to improve the juvenile justice system in Maryland.

Media is invited to attend. In order to comply with health department regulations, attendees must wear masks, maintain social distancing, and should not attend if they have symptoms associated with COVID-19.
