Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)

Join the District Court of Maryland Day of Trial Volunteer ADR practitioner roster as a Settlement Conference Attorney

Help litigants to settle their cases, and support the court process by volunteering to conduct settlement conferences four times annually during a Monday or Friday civil docket at the District Court for Frederick County.

Qualifications:

  • Maryland licensed attorney
  • Good standing with the Maryland Bar
  • At least 3 years litigation experience in the District Court

Volunteer Commitments:  Qualifications 

Attend Settlement Conference Orientation and Training on December 13, 2018, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the District Court in Frederick, and

Commit to volunteer on 4 dockets a year (no longer than ½ day each docket)

Agree to abide by District Court of Maryland ADR Office Policies and Procedures including:

  • the Maryland Standards of Conduct for Mediators, Arbitrators and Other ADR Practitioners,
  • agree to periodic monitoring as part of the District Court ADR Office Quality Assurance Initiative, and
  • complete ADR forms on your scheduled volunteer date
