General Employment Information
- Each year, the Maryland Judiciary hires over 200 new law clerks for a one-year term, generally spanning from August to August.
- Applicants must be enrolled in, or have already graduated from, an accredited Law School.

How to Apply
The justices of the Supreme Court of Maryland, the judges of the Appellate Court of Maryland, the judges of the Circuit Courts, and the administrative judges of the District Courts are responsible for the Law Clerk review and selection process.
There are several options for prospective Law Clerks to apply for a judicial clerkship:
- Option 1: View current Law Clerk vacancies, and follow the instructions provided in the specific posting(s) for which you’d like to apply. Typically, this involves submitting your application materials directly to the judge’s judicial assistant.
- Option 2: Submit your application and resume online via our Career Center by following the instructions below:
- Visit https://mdcourts.gov/careers
- Click 'Find Your New Career' at the bottom of the page
- Search for Job Opening 13165 in Keywords Section
- Apply to Law Clerk (Continuous Job Opening)
- Option 3: You may also contact the Judge’s Chambers directly to submit your resume and writing samples. See our directory of Judiciary Judges.
